Growth mindset is a concept coined and studied by Stanford University psychologist Carolyn Dweck, Ph.D. that refers to a person’s belief in his or her own ability to learn and develop skills, regardless of natural ability, through determination and hard work.

Jenn August, the creator of Jean and the Wonderful Idea Machine, has been doing growth mindset assemblies and growth mindset teacher trainings for several years all over the USA. Jenn’s mission in life is to help children understand the power of their mind and how to activate their growth mindset to become powerful problem solvers and enjoy the learning journey ahead of them. The musical centers around Jean - a young girl who believes she could invent something that would change worried thoughts into wonderful ideas. Jean invents and builds a wonderful idea machine. Word of this machine reaches the President of the United States and Jean is invited to bring her wonderful idea machine to the World Peace Summit to help solve all the world’s problems. Jean is a wonderful example of a little girl who believes in her ideas and cares about making the world a better place.
